Importing Data

FPSmart supports a variety of data import options to facilitate the integration of diverse data sources into your projects.

Supported File Formats
  • AIXM (Aeronautical Information Exchange Model)

  • CSV (Comma-Separated Values)

  • ARINC

  • Local Database

  • AIMDB (Aeronautical Information Management Database)

Steps to Import Data 1. AIXM Import:

  • Navigate to File > Import > AIXM.

  • Select the AIXM file you wish to import.

  • Configure import settings as needed and click Import.

  1. CSV Import:
    • Navigate to File > Import > CSV.

    • Choose the CSV file containing your data.

    • Map the CSV columns to the appropriate data fields in FPSmart and click Import.

  2. ARINC Import:
    • Navigate to File > Import > ARINC.

    • Select the ARINC file to import.

    • Follow the prompts to configure import options and click Import.

  3. Local Database Import:
    • Navigate to File > Import > Local Database.

    • Choose the database file to import.

    • Follow the instructions to map database tables to FPSmart data structures and click Import.

  4. AIMDB Import over Secured SSL Connection:
    • Navigate to File > Import > AIMDB.

    • Enter the AIMDB connection details, including SSL certificate information.

    • Authenticate and follow the prompts to import data securely.

Exporting Data

FPSmart provides multiple export options to facilitate the use of your data outside the application.

Supported Formats

  • KML (Keyhole Markup Language)

  • GML (Geography Markup Language)

  • AIXM

  • Local Database

  • AIMDB

How to Export Data

  1. KML Export:
    • Navigate to File > Export > KML.

    • Select the data you wish to export and configure the export settings.

    • Click Export and choose the destination folder.

  2. GML Export:
    • Navigate to File > Export > GML.

    • Choose the data to export and configure the export options.

    • Click Export and select the destination folder.

  3. AIXM Export:
    • Navigate to File > Export > AIXM.

    • Select the data to be exported and set the export parameters.

    • Click Export and choose the destination folder.

  4. Local Database Export:
    • Navigate to File > Export > Local Database.

    • Select the database file to export data into.

    • Map FPSmart data fields to the database structure and click Export.

  5. AIMDB Export over Secured SSL Connection:
    • Navigate to File > Export > AIMDB.

    • Enter the AIMDB connection details, including SSL certificate information.

    • Authenticate and follow the prompts to export data securely.

Data Organization

Organizing your data effectively within FPSmart ensures smooth project workflows and easy access to information.

How to Categorize and Manage Data within the Application

  1. Creating Data Categories:
    • Navigate to Data > Categories.

    • Click New Category and enter a name and description.

    • Click Save to create the category.

  2. Assigning Data to Categories:
    • Select the data item you wish to categorize.

    • Right-click and choose Assign to Category.

    • Select the appropriate category from the list.

  3. Managing Data within Categories:
    • Navigate to Data > Manage.

    • Select the category to view all data items within it.

    • Use the Move, Rename, and Delete options to organize data as needed.

  4. Using Tags for Data Management:
    • Apply tags to data items by selecting the item and clicking Tags.

    • Enter relevant tags and click Apply.

    • Use the Search function to filter data based on tags.

By leveraging these import, export, and organization features, you can efficiently manage your data within FPSmart, ensuring that your projects are well-structured and your data is easily accessible.
